Brush Fire Turns to MVA w/ Entrapment


CHFD was dispatched to a possible brush fire on Route-2 however dispatch quickly upgraded to an MVA with one person trapped and unconscious. Rescue-1 arrived first due and split it's crew to handle the removal of the vegetation surrounding the vehicle while the remainder of the crew prepared the tools and went to work extricating the driver. ET-1 arrived and provided assistance stabilizing the vehicle and managing hazards. ET-3 assumed second due Engine responsibilities (traffic, safety) while Car 28 managed the scene as command.
Despite the challenges, the PT was safely extricated and off to the hospital in under 9 minutes. Rescue 1, ET-1, ET-3, R-628, C-28 & S-328 (traffic control)
