Last Night's Fire

Fire Rips Through Strip Mall
EAST HAMPTON, Conn. -- The flames of a fire that tore apart a strip mall overnight could be seen emanating from the roof and windows, firefighters said. Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Jessica Schneider reported the fire broke out at about 1 a.m. on Thursday. Firefighters responded to the 4,000-square-foot building on Route 66 that houses several businesses, including a salon, and some apartments. Officials deem the entire structure destroyed by the fire.
