Working Fire 3-23-07

At 09:30 an alarm was received for a fire in a residence in the old mill housing section of the borough. Station 28 volunteers and paid staff arrived minutes later finding a 2 story private dwelling with smoke. The fire self vented and flashed just as the engine crew was placing the first line into operation. The fire was located in a pre-planned target area with several similar detached exposures just a few feet away. This prompted the first due officer to transmit a 2nd alarm (CHFD's version of a working fire assignment that fills companies from the CAD). Mutual aid companies were fast to the job and as always did great helping us out. Several dogs were pulled from the fire and brought to a local vet for treatment. Searches were negative, no injuries reported.

DRILL IDEA: Take this video back to your department. Discuss what went wrong and what went well. Learn from our mistakes and experiences. You won't hurt our feelings, we have watched and critiqued every second of this clip in a spirit of positive self-improvement.
