Good day of work
The day shift worked a fire in our first due section of Hebron today. The paid staff started things off with a home owner calling the station to report a possible basement fire in a private dwelling. Units arrived finding a heavy smoke condition and went to work locating a severly malfunctioning furnace, vented and cleared the scene taking in a few medicals and alarms. After lunch, the guys were headed back out to Hebron for a reported working fire. Units arrived finding a working fire involving the rear of a private dwelling. Lines were pulled and the fire was extinguished. A note for all Station 28 members, a certain paid guy leaves for vacation tomorrow.... you know what that means!

Couple of small fires
The day guys handled a small but smokey fire at Johnston Middle school yesterday that drove students out into the frigid temperatures. Courant story is here: http://www.courant.com/news/local/ec/hc-4brf0206_2.artfeb06,0,1260147.story
There was also a car fire out on Route 2 later in the day that was extinguished by ET-1's evening crew. Easy work, but these are good breaks from all the medical runs we do every day.
