THANK YOU!!!

Thank you to all who came down to the seminar today! It was great to meet up with everyone and hopefully you were able to take home some valuable knowledge. Chief Salka provided a great lecture and also as a nice touch provided some personal interactions with the group. Feedback was extremely positive and we thank you all again

CHFD Working Fire 5/28

Station 28 members were just sitting down for some ice-cream when a frantic citizen came through the doors reporting a fire on Broadway at 22:30. Units arrived finding a working fire in the attached storage wing of a historic occupied multi-dwelling. The first due Engine put a line into operation knocking the bulk of the fire down while Ladder 128 opened up. Searches were negative, fire went out, no injuries. Colchester FMO is investigating.

Another Fire, Defib Save & 8 hr SWAT Assignment Today

CHFD responded with a full response to the working fire in Bozrah today. Additionally, CHFD EMS had a successful defib save. Fire & EMS units were also involved in an 8 hr CSP SWAT assignment where an armed man had barricaded himself inside a residence (R628 transported w/ the SWAT Medic on board @ 21:30). There were the usual smells/bells & bus runs too. I hope the town residents that voted on the budget today realize what we do and support our tireless efforts to provide the best emergency services possible.
