Members practice vertical ventilation tactics while working in close conjunction with interior engine companies. (roof ladders in position and no, they aren't standing in the fire)
Demonstration of effective vertical ventilation scenario. Truck opens up, gas/heat escape allowing interior crews to make an aggressive push suppressing the seat of the advancing fire.

Live Fire Training 6/19/07
CHFD members participated in live fire training evolutions at the acquired structure on Dr. Foote Rd. Members practiced engine and truck company evolutions with emphasis on hose line placement and coordinated ventilation tactics. This 'real life' training is essential for keeping our members battle ready to do the job and we are averaging 2o hrs of such evolutions per month. Thanks to all who came out to help (Glastonbury, Salem, Yantic) and great job again everyone. No injuries. More burns scheduled for Thursday and Sunday.
