Vacant Building Notice
After doing some reading on vacant building fires I headed out into our 1st due to get an idea on the numbe/type of vacant structures in Colchester. I was amazed that it took me only 15 minutes to photograph OVER 20 VACANT BUILDINGS IN JUST A 1 MILE RADIUS around the downtown area. There are an additional 45 sq miles in our first due. Many of these are in various states of disrepair and present serious hazards to members. All members should be aware of these structures and exercise caution when operating incidents in and around these buildings. More to come...

11/14 Structure Fire
55 StoneRidge. The boys from Engine Co.2-28 (aka Hooterville) arrived in minutes placing a line into operation and keeping things in check until the balance of the asignment arrived. Exceptional work by all. The volunteer members who were at Co.2 staffing the Engine tonight deserve an extra pat on the back. Aggressive attack, solid command, house saved, no injuries.

11/5 Structure Fire
Rescue-1 responded on the asignment to a structure fire in Marlborough. A good quick knockdown by first in companies!
